BEZA and JICA jointly held a seminar on One Stop Service (OSS) for investors in economic zone. The unique set of 27 services will be provided from one window – OSS centre, that is being designed by JICA. Honorable Principal Coordinator (SDG), Prime Minister’s Office Md. Abul Kalam Azad graced the occasion as the chief guest and Senior Secretary of Ministry of Commerce Mr. Shubhashish Bosu, Mr. Yoshibumi Bito, Senior Representative, JICA Bangladesh Office,  Mr. Daisuke Arai, JETRO Country Representative, Dhaka, Bangladesh and Mr. Salahuddin Kasem Khan, Former President & Current Director, JBCCI  was present as special guests.

Mr. Paban Chowdhury, Executive Chairman (Secretary), Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority chaired the event.

  • In order to ensure OSS service to investors, BEZA took the initiative to make a one stop service law in 2015 and in continuation of its relentless effort; the One Stop Service Act was enacted in February 2018.
  • One Stop Service Rules has also been framed in November of 2018.
  •  BEZA and JICA has been working to provide necessary support in preparing SoP for ensuring different services in stipulated time, software development and establishment of an OSS system
  • BEZA is now providing 11 types of services which includes – land lease, project clearance, visa recommendation, work permit, import permit, export permit, visa assistance, local sell/buy, sample import and export.
